Bankruptcy Appellate Panel

 

BAP Adopts Electronic Filing
Effective April 1, 2010, all filings by attorneys in appeals to the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel of the Sixth Circuit are to be made electronically through ECF. The rules of the BAP have been amended effective April 1, 2010, and counsel should refer to these, and to the Guide to Electronic Filing referred to therein and linked below, when making filings with the BAP. Increase in Compensation for CJA Counsel
The case compensation limits applicable to counsel appointed under the Criminal Justice Act have been increased from $5,600 to $6,100 for representation in direct criminal appeals, appeals from the denial of habeas corpus or § 2255 relief. The increases apply in cases in which any work was performed on or after March 11, 2009.

The maximum hourly compensation rate for non-capital representation has increased from $100 to $110 for work performed on or after March 11, 2009. The maximum hourly compensation rate for capital federal post-conviction proceedings has increased from $170 to $175 for work performed on or after March 11, 2009.
