Collection contains many items of Jackson family correspondence, an 1880's Jackson notebook and some 1892-1894 Supreme Court opinions written by Jackson. These copies were purchased from the University of North Carolina library in 1969.

Howell E. Jackson Family Papers, 1841-1942. 0.8 linear ft (ca. 400 items) Finding Aid. These are the papers of Howell E. Jackson and his brother, William H. Jackson. The brothers married sisters who were the daughters of William Giles Harding, owner of Belle Meade Plantation about six miles from Nashville. Contains correspondence, business and real estate papers, wills, deeds, indentures and newspaper clippings.
