Contains correspondence, memoranda, case files, docket books, summaries of petitions for certiorari and miscellaneous materials relating to Stewart's professional career as a lawyer, judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, 1954-1957, and Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, 1958-1981. Series V contains records pertaining to Stewart's tenure on the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Series I-IV and Series VII are closed pending retirement of all Supreme Court justices who served with Stewart. |
