Ruth Nestor

 
Ruth Nestor was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended the Cincinnati Art Academy. She studied under professors John Weis, Herman Wessel and Myer Abel. Her portraits hang in the University of Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Academy of Medicine, in places of business and private homes in Cincinnati and elsewhere. Ms. Nestor has done two portraits of Associate Justice Potter Stewart, one of which hangs in the United States Supreme Court and the other hangs in the Sixth Floor Courtroom of this Court. Her portraits of Sixth Circuit Judges Paul C. Weick, John W. Peck, Anthony J. Celebrezze and Pierce Lively hang in the Sixth and Fourth Floor Courtrooms of the Potter Stewart U.S. Courthouse, Cincinnati. Ms. Nestor has also painted portraits of Senior District Judges Timothy S. Hogan, David S. Porter and Joseph P. Kinneary, whose portraits hang in the Cincinnati and Columbus courtrooms of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. She lives in Xenia, Ohio.
