On October 1, 2026, the Honorable Raymond M. Kethledge assumed the duties of Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and as Chair of the Sixth Circuit Judicial Council. Chief Judge Kethledge, who is stationed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, succeeds Judge Jeffrey S. Sutton of Columbus, Ohio, who served as Chief Judge from May 1, 2021, to September 30, 2026.
